This week:

* JOB MARKET: Lowest unemployment in Illinois at 3.8 percent makes it hard to find workers, even for entry level, minimum-wage jobs, according to Springfield area employers.

* PEORIA ROAD TIF: Consultant's report says a little over half of buildings in a proposed TIF district between Sangamon and North Grand Avenue are considered dilapidated; estimates $21 million investment in infrastructure, rehabilitation needed to revive the corridor. Still lots of approvals needed.

* ROY'S TAILORING & ALTERATIONS:  On MacArthur Boulevard closing at end of month after 51 years, including nearly 40 under current owner Skip Costa; he'll be 75 next month and decided it was time.

NEAR DROUGHT: In an area generally from Havana to Champaign, according to U.S. Drought Monitor, though no serious crop damage yet.
